Pioneer 79 Swimming Club was nominated for and successfully awarded the title of 'Community Club of The Year' at the 2015 Hyndburn Sports Awards ceremony, which was held at Accrington Town Hall. The Girls Relay Team from the Summer 2015 Nationals was there to receive the award, along with John Robinson, Pioneer's Chairman. Also on the evening, Niamh Robinson was also announced 'Young Achiever of the Year'.
Due to winning these awards, the club received a complimentary ticket for both awards to attend the Lancashire Sports Awards. Niamh and Joe Murray attended to represent the club. Unfortunately, we didn't win any awards on the evening, however, they both managed to get a photograph with the guest speaker for the evening, World Champion Gymnast, Beth Tweddle.
