11 Pioneer 79 Swimmers travelled to Bristol in February to compete at the Aquae Sulis Spring Grand Prix 2016 this was a Level 1 Meet. Over the course of the weekend, Pioneer 79 swimmers achieved 59 new personal best times, 10 Regional Qualifying Times and came away with 1 silver and 2 bronze medals between them. The small group were aged between 10-14 years.
Pioneer Coach, Ste Davison who accompanied the 11 swimmers in Bristol commented on how exceptional their performances and attitude were throughout the two days of competition, they did themselves and the club proud. The club is planning, at this early stage to send a much bigger team to the same event next year.
