Pioneer 79 Swimmers hit fantastic 82% PB rate in Wigan......

Greater Manchester Autumn Meet

Held at Wigan Life Centre

Saturday 1^st and Sunday 2^nd October 2016

Saturday 15^th and Sunday 16^th October 2016-10-16

Pioneer 79 Swimming Club was represented by 19 of our younger swimmers at the Level 3 Greater Manchester Autumn Meet.  The competition was run over 2 separate weekends, 1^st/ 2^nd October and 15^th/16^th October with events being divided into Junior (10-12yrs), Youth (13/14yrs) and Senior (15yrs and over) age group categories.  The gala was open to clubs affiliated to: Bolton & District S&WPA, Manchester & District S&WPA or Central Lancashire S&WPA.  

Head Coach, Mike Wilson and Assistant Head Coach, James Thompson were extremely impressed with the swimmers results and mentioned in dispatches on the Club’s Facebook Page were 12 year old Amy Barlow who set herself big personal best times in the 400m and 100m Freestyle, 200m IM and 200m Breaststroke. 12yr old Caitlin Woodend, who knocked chunks off her 50m Fly and 200m Back times.  Also, 11yr old Jess Simpson was mentioned with her 6 second new personal best time in the 200m Breaststroke.  These were not the only swimmers to hit new personal best times by any means, the results from each swimmer who competed were excellent which resulted in a very impressive new Personal Best Rate of 82%. 

13yr old Disability swimmer, Ethan Naisbitt returned with 3 gold medals, in the 50m, 100m and 400m Freestyle Multi-Disability class events, hitting new personal best times in each.

Well done to all who competed, and let’s hope the rest of the 2016-2017 season will continue to be as successful.
